Motor Vehicle Accident Associated Pain
Motor vehicle accidents cause multiple types of injuries from obvious broken bones to the neck pain from ligamental tear and strain. Motor vehicle impacts, even at low speeds, cause deceleration injuries which hyperextend and/or hyperflex joints and supporting soft tissue structures causing injury. Broken bones usually heal out of the normal alignment even with outstanding medical care causing abnormal strain on joint with resultant osteoarthritis formation. Proper attention to the injury with adequate pain control during aggressive physical therapy may prevent a chronic pain syndrome as a result of a motor vehicle crash.
