Lower Back Pain
Lower back pain is a common musculoskeletal disorder which affects the lumbar segments of the spine. In a significant number of individuals, low back pain tends to be recurrent in nature with a waxing and waning quality that can become chronic. Back pain affects almost 80% of the population at some stage in their life and accounts for more sick leave and disability than any other single medical condition. Lower back pain tends to evolve from the discs, vertebral bones, spinal joints, paraspinal muscles, or sacroiliac joints, but can come from multiple other pain generators. Lower back pain can be the cause of lower extremity discomfort in some instances.
